Genevieve L. “Genny” Hoffman

Genevieve L. “Genny” Hoffman age 89 of 3rd Avenue Brockway, PA; died on Monday, October 9, 2017, at her residence.

Born on July 1, 1928 in Johnsonburg, PA; she was the daughter of the late Steven and Catherine Rose Brzostek Flacinski.

On January 25, 1955 she was married to Eugene C. “Brownie” Hoffman and he survives.

Genny started out Working at Stackpole Carbon in St. Marys. After taking some time away from the workforce to start her family, she retired after spending 15 years working in the cafeteria at the Brockway High School.

She was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway and was a member of the Rosary Society.

She also was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Catholic Daughters of America. Genny was a woman that could do just about anything.

She especially loved baking and in particular baking cookies and sharing with many family, friends and neighbors during the holidays.

She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband she is also survived by 2 sons: Stephen Hoffman and Craig (Barbara) Hoffman both of Brockway; a brother Henry Flacinski of Florida and a granddaughter Lara Hoffman of Pine Grove Mills, PA.

Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by a son Curt Hoffman, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, October 11 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 12 at 1:30 PM at St. Tobias Church with Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding.

Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery.
